This is a clarification from Eddie Ray Cantrell
(President of NSA) at the national office
"I want to clear up some confusion about confiscating
bats and balls. As per the UIC meeting at the National Convention.
When we have a injury that leaves a player un-conscience; having to be
transported to the hospital or un able to leave the field under his/her
own power. This is when we have a reason to confiscate a bat.
If we have a player to go down after a ball is hit. YES! grab
the bat and ball. If the player shakes it off; give the bat back.
I've had bats in here this year that were confiscated that were taken
for no reason. The injured player continued the game. This
is not a valid reason to take a bat."
